sounds to me like the robbery victim was the one that got shot? Either way, arrests were made and thats two less crackhead criminals in this city.

Its about several stories down from the first one. More need to be shot, make some of them start thinking twice before they go in.

All in all I hope no one was hurt. But I certainly hope it sends out a message.

I just LOVE how they don't even mention the reason that the jerk got shot OR why the other two were there to begin with until the last paragraph............

I smell a bleeding heart reporter! Rolling Eyes

There is more property crimes in the coastal bend due to concentrated areas of drug use. San Antonio has more violent crimes though.

I may have my information wrong, but I don't believe that this was a burglary. I think the guys were looking for a fight. And it sure looks like they got the bad end of that deal. Not too bright.
later,
Ernie

bummer. I would like to think it was the only band of thieves on the island that got busted. guess they haven't scratched the surface on that ring, even with this "bust".

Having too much time on my hands I went to the FBI website and came up with these #'s:
Crime stats in Corpus as compared to SA on per capita basis detailing numbers of crime for every 100k of population:

Corpus Violent Crime for 2008(latest figures available):
777 crimes per 100k vs 718 in SA.
19 murders in Corpus vs 115 in SA.
192 rapes in Corpus vs 424 in SA.
490 aggravated robbery Corpus, 2743 in SA.
1525 assaults in Corpus, 6416 in SA.

Property Crimes amounted to 6160 per 100K in Corpus vs 7220 in SA.
Burglary.....3464 CC vs 18908 SA.
Theft/larceny....13,503 CC vs 70,651 in SA.
Motor vehicle theft....685 CC vs 8005 SA.
Arson....95 vs 521 in SA.

Sadly, both cities are above the state averages in all categories of crime. Now....back to the fishing reports.
