|

| What is the best way to keep a jackplate from "gumming up"? The problem is that the greese on the jackplate has been loaded up with salt. Now, when I raise or lower the jackplate it is defininately slower and makes a sound of stress! I know this is not good for the jackplate. It is only a little over a year old and last time i checked there is salt caked on it! I cleaned it and put new grease but still seems to be stressed. What is the best way to treat the jackplate? Any suggestions would definately and greatly be appreciated!! Victor |

| Mine had the same problem. Cleaned and relubricated and it was better. Try checking the hydraulic reservoir to make sure there's enough fluid...jackplates sound pretty rough when they're low on hydraulic fluid too. |

Frank, that used to work at Gunderlands years ago, told me to give each track a shot of LPS 3 "Teflon" every trip or so.I always trusted Frank,so I did and have for about the last 7 years now.
3 different boats all with JP's and so far no problems,KOW |
