Caught 6 trout from 22-25" early, freezer is full so all were released. Couple smaller ones too. Almost all of them were about 20 feet off the beach. Was by myself so didn't take any pictures of them. Had to run 2 trucks off that wanted to throw their damn cast nets where I was catching trout. The entire beach is full of mullet but they gotta stop next to me. Quickly remembered why I don't like weekends. Released a 24.5 & a 25 right in front of one of the cast netters. They thought I was nuts. I enjoyed it. Almost forgot the best part. Found a $20 bill rolling around the bottom. Gettin paid to catch trout doesn't suck!
Bite slowed so moved north. While trying for more trout something was hammering mullet a couple hundred yards north of me. Hopped in the truck & grabbed the camera. Had the wrong lens on, didn't have time to change so the pics sucked. This was the least sucky of the 3 I got. When the mullet came out of the water it sounded like the fountains in front of Caesar's Palace. Very cool sound. Never did see what was chasing them, whatever it was it was damn fast.
Saw this bt later on. Was going to sight cast to it but it saw me & hauled out of there.
There was a lot of green algae looking stuff coming in. It looked like red tide while in the water, no lung irritation. Hope it's not something bad.

Thanks for the report. Sounded pretty awesome till the half-supple bum potlickers came around. Good for you I'm glad you ran them off! Man I hope that algae is'nt a bad sign. _________________ When the going gets tough, the tough go fishing... |

Right time and right place...Awesome! Very nice pictures. Wish you could have scored the black tip. Just about the right size for grilling. _________________
