Saturday.....let me tell ya about Saturday. Saturday could have been a reel slammin day. It started off great, my guest showed up on time with breakfast...next time bring me a coffee too. The weather started off good to a certain extent, well let me put it this way everything was fine cept for the winds they came from every compass point there ever was Saturday. I guess if you sat still long enough the winds would have blown you in a complete circle.
We blasted off from the dock at 0630 and was on a drift by 0645 , there was lots of floating grass and it was making it hard for throwing topwaters, but thats were the action was. It wasn,t long before i saw a small school of reds, small to me anyways. We made a big circle and drifted through the edge of them not getting a bite , as we were getting ready to go around and set up on a second drift ..this BOZO in a tower boat came by me off the portside about 25yards away and plowed right into the middle of the school, I got hot and pissed and headed right for his stern at full peed thats when he told me to slow down because there was redfish there....duh. What a complete dumb_ss he was and still is. I yell'ed at him and said i've been on them since before the sun came up. That guy does not know how to fish nor is he a sailor or boatsman of any kind. I should have taken his pic and posted it here. Well my new guest got to see what we locals have to put up with. My fishing was shot for the rest of the morning but my guest boated 2 nice reds and somewhere we picked up 2 trout . I owe him another trip hopefully on a day when BOZO is off the water.

Donovan is actually a pretty good fisherman and being retired Navy ,he knows how to act in a boat. ....Not like Bozo the unsailor clown.

Winds out of the North and fish on, this guy was kicking but with a topwater. All in all not a complete waste of a wierd morning . Ya'll be good on the water and give the guy atleast 200 yards not 25. Until the next backyard report, ya'll have a good one. Oh, don't forget about the Baghdad fishing club..... Very Happy

Had the pleasure of visiting with IMS yesterday afternoon and got this story while it was still fresh enough on his mind that he got excited and flushed in the face just talking about it. BOZO is a polite word for inconsiderate JERKS like the one that Stan had to put up with yesterday morning. I am sure cash donatiosn are welcome too!

I dropped off my donation to the Bagdad Fishing Club and IMS is gathering a nice collection to send to our troops. Please remember to gather up some of your stuff that is in good working order (the stuff that you don't use much anymore) and get it to IMS.

Thanks for the support and thanks to IMS for getting this whole thing started and for seeing it through!!

Jeff

I got run over too, but in Rockport. We fished all over the area Saturday, without catching many keeper trout. The outside of Traylor was lifeless and void of any boats on a Saturday? Super Flats, Mud Island and Allans Bight nothin?? Estes Flats had small trout, and plenty of smaller slot reds.

Today, we did great...but I had to burn some gas. We found good numbers of solid trout in CC Bay. Small topwaters were the ticket.

Had the pleasure of finally meeting IMS just minutes of him and Donovan coming off the water. Great people. Stan...Kate says hi and asks if you found the Blacken Redfish Blend???

Yes, BOZO is very understated. People please spread the word...respect your fellow man. Give fishing boats all you can, and give waders even more. Blow out the candle and use the trolling motor! With that being said, some people are just too excitable and have no common sense.
