Headed out early to find some bait but there was very little in the surf. Caught what I could and headed off to the rigs. First ribbonfish out gets a slight run and then goes slack, reel it in to find a large hardhead! I start looking around trying to figure what is going on and notice there is no water movement at all under the waves. I put some chum down right at the yak and it just sank straight down. Ended up catching my limit on hardheads anything within 10 ft of the bottom came up hardheads. Around the rigs trigger fish were above them. Had two blowups on balloons with ribbon fish but whatever it was hit once and bit through the leader. Water was green but not as clear as last time. Saw no birds, no bait, but several boaters all moving around looking for fish. Nice day on the water and got my first breaker turtle 10ft from shore coming back. Those Bikinis playing in the surf get me everytime. _________________ Tis but a flesh wound. |
