Ok, I have finally settled on the Olympus 1030SW after my trip to PINS(report coming) this weekend and some of the pics on the ol 35mm camera did not come out. I went to purchase yesterday and nobody in SA sells it, they sell models close but I want the 1030SW. The Olympus site shows the only place that sells it is in Austin but I don't really want to drive that far. So where did you guys that have them buy them from because most of the online places seem shady and don't have great feedback so I want to steer clear of a bad experience. I'm going to purchase this week so any info is appreciated.

(posting on multiple sites for max info)
Thanks
Sean

I think the 1030sw is going to be hard to find. I saw some at best buy. Most store carry the tough 8000 to replace the 1030sw. We bought the tough8000 and very happy with it. It detect water automagically and set the camera appropriately for water. It does movie with sound underwater which is cool.

The Tough 6000 is the replacement for the 1030SW. What makes them unique in the Stylus line is that they have a wide angle lens.

can you buy online?

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw_0_5?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=1030sw&sprefix=1030s

I've got the 850SW and it's a great little camera, takes better pics than my Cannon 35mm.

I think flyindrdre is right on the camera. The Tough 8000 is the replacement for the 1030SW as it is waterproof to 33ft which is what I need. I think the Tough 6000 is the replacement for the 1050 which are both waterproof to
only 10ft.

flyindrdre - The Tough 8000 I read some reviews that say it works great outdoors with the 12MP but that its not that great for indoor pics. Care to comment since you own one?

Ebay was considered but not really wanting to. I found this place on Amazon that seems like a good deal and has decent ratings.

Then they aren't true replacements. I wanted the wide angle lens and the 1030 and 6000 are the only ones with 28mm wide angles.
