Fished the surf south of BHP as I got several reports there was trout in the area...well I only got one bite but it was a good one. Caught a 27" trout on a blue/chrome topwater. I turned her loose and don't have a picture as I was fishing by myself and didn't want to kill her. I saw several other large trout cruising the 1st bar...but that was the only one I could make bite. Surf conditions were awesome.

That's what I am talking about! I totally believe that.

Thanks and welcome.

Thanks for the report, I think I'll hit the surf this week after work.

I had the same problem with getting them to bite. The water was crystal up on Mustang island and several large trout that would look closely at a topwater but leave it alone. I just figured i wasn't holding my mouth right.

The warmer the inshore water gets the less the temperature difference between the water and the land, which of course means a weaker sea breeze. Weaker is of course a relative term.............................

I'd like to try an offshore trip with y'all in September. I'll buy the beer this time snake! Cool
