Headed out at 4:30 in the morning to My Honey hole from last year. Took about 45 minutes in the kayak to get there. Got setup in the dark and poles out. Oddly no bites. Once the sun was fully up got to looking around and realized the coast was completely different. The deep holes I thought I was fishing were gone. Erosion can do a lot in 6 months. So I setup a little parking spot offloaded the Icechest and extraneous gear then headed out a little ways to deeper water to look for fish. Fished the "Green Water" just off the coast. started to catch some gafftop and sandtrout When I turned and look back to see someone digging through my stuff back at the Island. So I headed back shore a little faster then normal to talk with them. Ends up they thought someone had left it there and they were looking for a name to return it. Seemed like nice enough guys. Still I think I won't be doing that again. Packed everything up and headed to the ditch yakked back towards JFK stopping and fishing, but no bites. Came across a school of tailing reds (I had always heard of it but never seen it). Cast a mullet in the middle and got two blowups but no hookups then they scattered. After hunting a while decided to head on back to Demit Pier. Ended the day with one nice sand trout and 3 Gafftop.

That's pretty brave of you to go that far on a yak by your lonesome. Congrats on bringin' some fish home.
