| For all of those living in Corpus, if you haven't already voted, vote today. The City Council makes decisions about the beach and Packery jetties. You know the old saying:"If you don't vote, you can't complain." |

I went. I thought of Capt. Singleterry while I was there with the whole puke and leave thing. Reminded me of the South Park episode where they had to choose a new mascot. It was between a giant Vinegar and water deployment device and a turd sandwich. _________________ Save the seagrass......Shoot some ducks |

beach closures for auts doesnt phase me.. drive car to easy access points.
it is the truck closures that is the problem. 4x4.. got to be specific with these politicians.. "No taxes for thoose earning under 250k" check your paycheck.. yeah right.. new taxes went into effect end of february or early march.. more taxes..
dont ever trust a politician and i will leave it at that to be neutral. _________________ Fish and Hunt Baby.... so tight lines and clear scopes. |

|
|
After church this morning we went to eat and I picked up a We the People news rag to make sure I did not vote for anyone they endorsed! I was reading the far left slanted articles and came across this about Kevin Kieschnick:
http://www.wethepeoplenews.net/articles/special-interests-support-slate-city-council-good-ole-boys-seek-blast-past
| Quote: | | In District One newcomer and Banker Kevin Kieschnick is their pick. He wants growth, any growth and Las Brisas is fine with him even though District One will eat most of the pollution produced. Kieschnick is another one who thinks we really blew it when we didn’t close the beach to vehicles. |
That last sentence is far from what I have heard come from Kevin on his views. I realize this rag is just liberal propaganda, but I thought I would post something on it so that others don't take what is printed as fact. I also think Kevin would have a pretty good libel case against this so-called newspaper and John Kelley. |

Thanks -
I will be honest though and I know I'm going to get slammed - I was for the closure initially:oops: . I was for it because I thought it was good for the City as a whole- we needed the income, but I was only going to be for it if there was a mandate to put future closures in the hands of the voters was part of the package. The good thing is that part passed and I am pleased with the outcome - I didn't want to let every Tom, Richard, and Harry to shut down a section of our beach. So JK was partially right, but as usual, slanted it and did not tell the whole story. His articles are about as accurate as the ones you see in The Sun - or whatever it's called - you know, the one that has the space aliens capturing the president every other week.
I will keep you guys up to date on what is comming down the pipe in regards to beach closure chatter on the council if it comes up. I personally do not see that matter comming back up, but you never know.
On another note, Once we get through the budget, I'd like to approach the subject of getting more vehicle access off the Joe Fulton Corridor, and work with the Port Authority to give us an extra hour to their curfew in the A.M. for us waders and yakers. Also, I want to find out what went wrong with the yak launching park at Dimmit Pier & Park. I'll work on these after the budget gets done. No promises I'll get anything done, but I'll work on them and we'll see. _________________ Vegetarian (n)...Old indian word for bad hunter |

kevin, the promise of doing something is encouraging BUT the reporting back to us is even more important. information in this city seems to always come up the day or week after something happens never ahead of time. maybe some early reporting would even get some more participation of citizens. _________________ ccbobber |
