I will make a wild guess. The property owner to the west got tired of peple driving all over his property in all kinds of vehicles or maybe the city. Heard there were some rough characters causing problems.
Looked like there is an opening in the guard rail so maybe can walk in to fish, but not much parking. |

I noticed that last week. I think BlueWaveEd is on the right track. Guessing they got tired of trucks and ATVs being back there. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

| I noticed the flags on the Flour Bluff side where the rest of the guardrail is or will be. Is is done on both sides now? |

I sure that guardrail will prevent access about as good as the fence that used to be up back there did. The point is, if a lifelong Bluffer gets the desire to go back there and fish, all barriers are coming down. |

I could throw some folks under the bus, lets just say it was part of the mitigation plan of putting lines under the Oso. Remember all that work that went on there along yorktown from the new subdivision last year?
I don't like it. _________________

Two years ago when the city placed the pipeline down Yorktown the owners of the properties that border the Oso creek on the Bluff side talked to the city and county about closing off access along the creek. They did this because some, not all sportsmen would trespass & drive along their beach, sometimes driving up the bluff and through their yards to escape incoming tides blown infrom a Norther. The propery owners property line extends to wherever the mean low tide falls. People were cutting fences and leaving their trash. They would come out at all times during the night. Sometimes abandonned vehicles were left until the county would remove them.
The City agreed to fence off both sides of Mud bridge and enforce the trespass signs that will eventually be posted. The property on the West side is still owned by the Starry family and I don't think they care one way or the other. The other property owners down Berlet Ln own the beach front on the Bluff side. The land at the end of Berlet Lnhas been in my family for 45 years and my folks still live there. I hope that you will respect their privacy and property.
I'd like to put the word out that people had better think twice before tresspassing on the Bluff side of the Oso. THe people on that street have the ear of the police and Sherriff Kaelin and it's not likely you'll get much sympathy from JP Larry Cox either. _________________ "Charlie Don't Surf" |

I'm not a life-long Bluffer(transplanted in 2001), but the trespassers should be ready to suffer the consequences. |
