I need some heavy duty support tonight, not really me, but my son, Ryan.
He is 28, and has been fighting melanoma since April of last year. Interferon is not a happy treatment if any of you are aware of its side effects. Last week he called me after noticing a new lump on his collarbone. He went in today for an emergency biopsy in Austin. Oncologist is 50/50 that it is probably more melanoma. He will be going in for a PET scan next week, along with other such associated tests. If you have children, or are planning on having children, then you might have a clue as to how this can have an impact on you. I also have two daughters and their three children, and they are both terrified about their brother's condition. What I am asking for here, and I am sorry that I must bring this dark cloud to our community, is to ask for your prayers, your empathy, and your every hope that my son will not be found with a cancer reoccurrence, but if it is, that it can be removed, or cured, or get rid of from his body. There can be NO greater fear of a parent than what we are faced with now. But, the fear of my son has to be so much greater than that. Please pray for him. Please.
