My buddy and his wife came out to go fishing and hang out on the water. We headed out to do a little drifting about 3pm. Found some decent water and started throwing. Yancy was throwing soft plastics and I threw the toppie. The action wasn't all that great until we ran into a school of reds. I had a couple follow my lure and not take it, so I grabbed the spoon rod. First throw was met with a nice hard hit. While I was fighting the fish, Yancy hooked up. We get em in take a few pics before letting them go.

28 1/4" 8lbs

The school kinda moved off by the time we got all this done, so we decided to just keep drifting and see how it goes. It was a little slow, but Yancy managed a few trout. I only had two fish all day, but they were a great two to have. The second fish came on my skitterwalk. I thought it was a red at first. I hadn't fought one of these in a while.....a long while.

Lots of fun - it was a nice day to be out. Lots of good water out there. Thanks for camera duty Paula, you did a great job.

wouldnt say you got lucky... would say you worked it hard and worked it right..
