Caught these 9 fish on 3-2-09 at Choke on minnows. The one in front was the strangest crappie I ever saw. Anyone care to try and identify it? LOL.Fished from around 7AM till 2PM. Caught the last one at almost 2. They would have probably bitten all day.
Mikey says “That’s the biggest one”. Had 2 small just barely keepers. The rest were from 12 to just over 15 inches. That is except for the large weird looking crappie that went about 2 ½ lbs. Also threw back a similar fish that was only 8 inches and 2 throw back crappie.

yeah about a 18" beast of a crappie..
nice catch.. Bet the little one is loving granpa doing all the work at cleaning the fish.. soon he will be doing all the work..
great catch again.

Nice. My little brother has been buggin me to go to choke with him for crappie. Your catches are starting to motivate me a little.

me too!....can someone give me directions on how to get to a good spot.  never been there, no boat...gotta fish from the bank.....is that alright when fishing for crappie?

Bluff rat, find a spot from the bank that is 8+ feet deep with structure. You should find them.
