fishing with Singleterry, always entertaining! 5 of us came down from Austin (company thing), and porkfetus joined us on Mike's boat since we had an extra spot.

Yesterday we managed 4 really nice reds 22-27", 5 trout 15-18", a few mangroves, a flattie 16", and an 18" or so drum. Not a huge meat haul but still plenty of fillets for the family. The other boat wasn't as productive, but everyone had a good time.

Given the bluebird skies, high pressure, 15 knot winds, red tide it was a great day. I knew I tempted fate when I boxed a 22" red, and told Mike that 'my redfish is bigger than yours, ha!' (he hadn't caught a keeper). 5 minutes later he brings in a bruiser. It was all part of my plan. Smile

We picked up a few golden croakers that were just under 'worth messing with' size. Nice to see croakers on the hook rather than only in bait tanks.

We probably caught 20+ rat reds, some only 5" long. They better swim fast or a pinfish is gonna get 'em.

The drum and redfish go on the halfshell tonight and tomorrow. Flounder is destined for crab stuffing.

Thanks Mike!

LOL! I think you originally said "it doesn't cost a dime to set the hook". Either way it worked, those boys were setting the hook harder than Bill Dance on the neighbors' stock-tank.

thanks Mike, a lot of fun despite terrible conditions. I think frayed underestimated the wind speed, especially when you lit the candle and headed up-wind.

If any of you folks want to get out and actually catch some fish, talk to Capt Mike about a charter.

had a great time, looking forward to those big girls this winter.

Typo, meant 25 knots. My face was permanently disfigured at full tilt heading for the causeway. LOL.

I still had a full bar set up for you guys. To bad, guess me and the topdog will put it away together. I can't believe you guys didn't take any pics. Might be having a promotion get together soon.
