Not as many dead fish up North as in the 30s and 40s. Saw lots more on the way back than this morning going down although there were tons of them this morning. Mostly skipjacks and mullet. Last 10 miles to the jetties no dead fish but aerosol present and my bet is there will be dead fish there in the morning. Oz said at 4 p.m. yesterday he saw few fish dead and this morning there were plenty. Tomorrow there will be a lot more. Many dead fish were floating in the surf even on the outgoing tide. Probably saw 25 Bull reds, the kingfish and one 5 1/2' dead Tarpon. First Tarpon I ever saw killed by the red tide in my life. Lots of hardheads in the kill and dead fish were already scattered across the beach to the point I had to get up against the dunes and break a trail South of Big Shell to keep from driving on dead fish on the way out. I don't think the beach South of the 30 will be drivable tomorrow so Oz may have an extended stay at the jetties. When I came in I had all kinds of phone calls wanting to know what I thought or what were my predictions. I do not second guess what is going to happen concerning red tides. Some times they last through several Northers and a steep decline in water temp. Other times a couple of Northers and they disappear. To me it's simple. Catching is always ifffy with a red tide and fishing is not much fun or very pleasant and I do more damage to my self and my truck than it's worth so I'm canceling all my charters till it clears. That's the best I can tell you guys; I have a lot going on right now and apologize but simply don't have time to answer all these phone calls. What do I think? I think we are dead meat at least through this week end. Capt. Billy

Yeah Billy, I had a trip scheduled to the PM Jetties for Thursday, but I have already cancled it due the pictures Tyler posted this evening. My eyes can't take red tide, period.

Thanks Captain Billy for the report. I guess it's just a part of nature. I won't be going this weekend and the weather will probably be perfect with my luck.

does this also affect things in Port Aransas? We are tentatively going this weekend with the main emphasis on fishing.

I fished SBH yesterday morning 7:00 am and have to leave after 2 hours. There was no dead fish but my eyes started burning and couldn't stop coughing.
