we got there about 9:30 after dropping off the kids for school..they get out early (11:30) so we knew we wouldnt have much time..was pretty ugly out there chocolate water inside n out no mullet in sight.. alot people fishing the Packery Bridge dnt know how they did... only a couple people fishing on both North N South Jetti side fishing. We started out half way down, wife tried the channel and i tried the 2nd gut in the surf did get a couple pony mullets and used em for cut bait,we were there for about an hour then the people at the end decided to call it quits so we packed up and headed towards the end and we took over their spot. cut cut up a fresh mullet and threw it out almost reached the blue water waited about 5 mins and my line took off set the hook and whatever it was started pulling out line then it broke off at the 15# berkly flourocarbon leader i know i still havent made it to Roys for the Cigar stuff.. so i crimped on a wire leader and that was it... we had to leave somewhere around 11 but from about 10:30 till 11:10 we hooked up on some upper slot Reds (4) it was pretty action packed I'll post picks later ...so its safe to say the reds are still out there..
heres the pix they are all about 28" but the one my wife caught held by my son adrian coz wife was being shy ..well it looks little..must be the angle or something..

| That spot produced all day. That's the first time anyone has outfished me with cut bait on the bottom out there. I still nailed my limit on the 'ol lemon rig and live shrimp. |
