I say we go and bbq some reds on the half shell on the other side of the street and give away samples of red sea kittens. I can think of some things that just don't sound good but they sure are tasty. _________________ Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. |

personally...I'm all for PETA. every decision they make is based on hard scientific fact... just like CCA.
just for the record..I probably wouldn't eat fish sticks if they were called sea kittens... but that's just because I would think they actually used cats instead of fish.
I also wouldn't eat fish sticks anyway, or if they were called something like goat balls, chimpanzee nuggets, or gorilla fingers... |

They may be off in some areas i'll be the first to agree on that. I do stand behind them when it comes to animal cruelty. No animal should be abused especially if its being raised just for our consumption. The workers that abuse these animals obviosly have never had a cattle prod stuck up their well, you know. I've seen pics were eyes and such have been poked out on purpose by stockyard workers. I feel that these animals deserve at the least some sort of respect. Just my opinion. As for the fish protest...its not going to stop us from doing what we like. They will go away. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

The problem does not lie with the wackos that walk around naked with signs at aquariums (which are probably the least abusive places on earth for a little irony). It is the people employed by these organizations that live in the dark or not so dark corners of our government buildings whispering (or shouting) in the ears of our elected officials and spending millions of dollars getting them to pay attention to what they have to say. They are no less wacko but way better at hiding it when they need to. I have met several state and national PETA lobbyists and they scare me more than a pissed off sow hog (they thought I was a friend so they spoke freely). They send the hippies out in public to smoke screen us to their real goal in the state house. I try to keep up with what bills are coming up and how they effect the outdoor pastimes all of us love so much. I don’t see them all but I try to call and email anyone I can and let them know that there are still a bunch of us who do not want our rights messed with.
I think all of us can agree that senseless cruelty to animals is shameful and the people responsible should have their actions to the animal repeated on them. But a lot of the people who give money and time to these organizations feel the same way but do not necessarily follow a lot of the more radical views. If you have not ever went to PETA's website suck it up and look for a few minutes especially at the kids section it will scare the fisherman's tan off of you.

i also agree with a lot of what PETA stands for...but sometimes i cant help but laugh. protesting eating fish..pure stupidity if you ask me. if they feel like this about fish, obviously they cry when they eat a burger or steak.
that reminds me....to the native indians the word "vegetarian" means "bad hunter"
to each their own i guess. _________________ "When times are tough,

Peta is too sensitive and they are spreading the notion... Other nations are building their youth to be killers, while we are worried about freaking "sea kittens". PETA is a joke, and if we are too sensitive to kill "sea kittens" how will we defend ourselves in battle...
Just my opinion...
By the way I do think "sea kittens" like croaker. Especially skipjack at packery!! You know what else "sea kittens" like... SEA KITTENS! Yes that's right they eat each other, how ethical is that? |

Far as Animal Cruelty I'm with ya Stan 100% BUT.... I know for a fact that the rumors you hear about PETA members working at those places and then MAKING the videos of said "Cruelty" is they're own handiwork. We had our very own hippy here in the wildlife Dept. that was a card carrying member of PETA till they asked her to do one of these assignments.
If they didn't have to make up animal cruelty to make they're point I'd respect them but until then I have none to give they're way _________________ What's good for me ain't necessarily good for the weak minded.... |
