I was thinking about buying 1500 yds of 100lb YELLOW Power Pro line.
I plan on fishing the beach. Is yellow ok to fish the beach with? |

I have tried yellow, red, green and black. They all do the same for me. I don't know about on the beach. I have heard people on here talking about light colored lines not being good for fishing the surf. _________________ Give a Man a Fish and he will eat for a day. I use the yellow power pro and like it. It's easy to see in the water. If you are using a leader, the line color should not make a difference as far as the fish is concerned. _________________ CARPE DIEM |

| Ya I use 20 to 40 feet of leader. Im not worried about the shark seeing it and not liking, what im worried about is the smacks hittin it. |

| I have yellow power pro 100# on my 6/0 wide and its never gotten nailed by the smack.. knock on wood.. Im really more concerned about keeping it off the sand bars though braid will get cut by shells thats why I use big mono on most of them. I will tell you its much easier getting the big heavy wieghts in with no stretching braid. |

I think as long as the lines solid color and doesn't glitter or sparkle you'll be alright...if not, you've got a lot of line left to try adding a mono topshot to. I was thinking bout puting the same stuff on my 9/0. I have a friend who runs it on an avet and never heard a report of him getting cut off. Most problems i hear of are with clear mono and white dacron. If you're worried bout it might just try the moss green. all the yellow will help with is make keeping track of the line a little bit easier. _________________ Eagles may soar...but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. |

I just read an article on rigging for sharks from the beach. The recommendation is either clear or green line. The orange and yellow lines tend to get hit more often by smacks and such. So you probably made a wise choice.

put a good bit of backing on that 12 to pad the spool from the power pro. You should have plenty of room left over...don't worry though...just remember you have about 600yds more than most 12's even with the extra space on the spool. _________________ Eagles may soar...but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. |
