Have any of you guys ever caught large puffer fish? Down in rocky this weekend, we caught two. One was just over 5 lbs, and the other one was about 3.5 lbs

I've never seen a puffer fish over 6 or 7 inches long before.

we thought about making some of that famous kill ya sushi, but weren't quite that ballsy.

I'll post some photos up later...

Sounds like you did the right thing. I have yet to fork out the bucks or the deathwish to try Fugu. Even when prepared CORRECTLY there are still toxins in the meat, enough to make one's lips go numb or tingle...................... so I've read. Embarassed

yep...we googled that out on the water... We almost kept it because I was sure it had to be a state record... guess we were about 5 lbs off the mark though.

I still had no idea puffer fish got that big.

I wonder what a sushi restaraunt would pay for them? Very Happy
