A buddy and I picked up a quart of live shrimp and were heading down the jetty by 8:30 am. Fishing was slow at first, with only a few small dark colored snapper (not mangroves) and a few rat reds caught and released. About 10 we noticed a few slot reds being netted at the end of the jetty on the channel side. We decided to move down to the end, and I'm glad we did. First cast 21 inch red. 3rd cast 24 inch red. It was ON! Others began to move to the hot spot, and with about 10 people fishing the end, double and triple hook-ups began. For about 20 minutes, everyone throwing live mullet and live shrimp were catching slot reds. I finished my limit in about 30 minutes, and my buddy finished his shortly after. By 11:30, the bite went cold. Amongst the ruckus I caught an undersized sheepshead as well. We finished the day at bob hall with a few nice sized smacks and a pompano. Went back Sunday and then again Monday morning and the reds were nowhere to be found. We must have stumbled into a big school Saturday, and it sure was fun! Sorry guys no pics I don't know how to post them.

Great Job, sounds like a blast. I've been there before when the schools move through and it is funny how many people want to become friends when you start catching. Very Happy

i hear you about it being dead... sunday evening and all of monday morning nothing was biting. and monday morning the conditions were the same as saturday. Just a matter of being at the right place at the right time. Nonetheless days like that make the trip worth it!

Also, there were TONS of specks at Clem's sunday night under the lights, but they wouldnt hit a live shrimp. Go figure.
