I had my truck and trailer towed from Padre Isles private ramp and it was $350 to get it back. I was still outraged, but there were signs that I ignored. I guess I got a good deal! How the heck can 14 more miles add up to $2150 more in fees? And why won't they allow you to pay with a credit card or debit card? I HAD to bring cash ONLY. REDICULOUS. Go get em _________________ Sam

Them taking "cash only" always makes me feel as if they are pocketing some off the books...unreported taxable income. booo _________________ Eagles may soar...but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. |

Rudy, I like it and thanks. This is going to Court and from the very little research I have on Sanford his goose is cooked....don't want to post it on an Internet site but he will get his. I also want those who know it is going on and either turn a blind eye or worse to get theirs. Any thoughts on who at the PINS or Kleberg who know or should know is appreciated. Feel free to email me at rdonato@donatominxbrown.com and lets try to keep it private at this point. My style is to not let them know what is coming and feel free to check up on the firm at http://donatominxbrown.com if you want some assurance on how serious this is going to get. The local Corpus firm that will be involved is also formidable. I took off a hardhat and drove straight to night time law school to get where I got and while I am fortunate to be able to pay and walk away this it is outrageous and if I can help another fellow fisherman that is plenty of motivation for me. That and I am pissed. _________________ Wish I Were in Baffin |

Looks like I need to write my congressmen AGAIN. I encourage you to do the same.
Please write the letters everyone.
Mine is going to read like this:
Dear Senator,
Please see that the superintendent of Padre Island National Seashore is transferred to the seashore of Guantanamo Bay. His management style will be of great service to the vistors of that seashore.
Thanks you,
Concerned citizen of Kleberg County...... |

| Make a big deal of it. get it on the news and the papers and i bet they lower the price. thats bull poo poo. i had a trailer that had a broke axle towed from SA to corpus on a flat bed and it was like 500.00-650.00. fight it to the end. i'm telling you the news is the way. i would also let them know if you pay in cash you will be letting the IRS know about it. I would also make a call to them and act like you need a tow and see if they will take credit card i bet they do. channel 6 and 10 help people out with stuff like this. i bet if the news showed up at there door steps thing would change. |

Everything smell like lots of $$ passing under the table…..
What the hell is going on at PINS? Who is to blame?
very simple…. the management. I think is time for
me to write a letter to my congressman. The place is turning
into an area where visitors are afraid to go and enjoy.
$2500 for a towing!!! Who is running the place? The mafia? |

| that is 100% absolutely outrageous.. Thank you for steeping out and sticking your head out on this one.. Otherwise more people will be getting bent in the end!! I know for a fact I wouldn't be able to afford 2500 dollars for any towing fee.. how the heck are you suppose to get 2500 cash on a weekend anyhow? My ATM only gives me 1500!! and that's because I yelled I wanted it raised.. |

That is *outrageous*!
Best of luck fighting that crap. IMO, it's an artifact of being on federal property, the owners of which have no accountability. This lack of accountability continues to manifest itself in various user-hostile ways. _________________ Jeff

NOTE TO SELF- NEVER LET MY BUDDY PARK MY TRUCK AND TRAILER. JUST JOKING.
IT APPEARS MOST OF YOUR PRACTICE OF LAW IS IN BIG MONEY CASES. NOW YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO ARGUE CHANGE FOR THIS AREA INVOLVING TOWING POLICIES AND PRICING. AS YOU KNOW, YOUR AREA HAS THEIR TOW COMPANIES REGULATED. CORPUS AREA DOES NOT BECAUSE NOBODY HAS STOOD UP TO ARGUE THIS IS INSANE AND OUT OF CONTROL.
WE WILL SEE HOW LONG YOU STAY PISSED. |

If they have to tow why not just tow you to Malaquite parking lot? |
Because the goal is to punish all those who disobey the prince of the park... Tickets or towing to Malaquite just don't hurt enough.
The obvious problem at Bird Island from the users point-of-view is that there is insufficient parking for boaters using the launch ramp. A simple solution would be to clear an overflow parking area and throw some calechi on it. Or an even easier solution would be to go ahead and allow parking along portions of the road - it's not like it's a highway.
That unfortunately does not appear to be the view of the Park superintendent. His actions seem to be aimed at reducing the number of users and at emphasizing that when you are allowed to visit *his* park, you must obey *his* rules.
Good Luck, TroutSlayer. I hope you nail them all. |

Actually I think it all goes back to "Princess Donna and the turtletards". She does not want people coming to her turtletard domain and her new "lacky" is more that happy to do her bidding. It's all a part of the grand plan to stop public use of pins so the turtletards will have their own private kingdom.
Personally, I say "to he!!"" with the turtles and the turtletards. The turtles are not native to the area and these jerks have no business trying to establish them there!! What happens when they try to artificially expand the turtle nesting areas to other places - and -mark my words - they will. Are we going to wind up with a gulf coast controlled by turtletard freaks? |

I suggest getting Congressman involved.
Also, get the media to expose this SCAM. Aren't there ordinances and Code of Federal Regulations for Fed. Properties to post rules and regulations and "Subject Fines" such as towing?
Geeesh, that wrecker company is bogus. What goes around ... comes around. Hopefully the right type of voodoo will get that company up the kabooose. _________________ Live to Fish... Fish to Live
