First, I think everyday should be Memorial Day in our hearts. Because of them we can go fishing, bbqing, and ever drive 15 mph on PINS. We surely do have a lot to be grateful for here in the "United States of America".. I have been over seas and have seen how other people live. This is by far the best nation on planet earth. I wish all of you a blessed Memorial Day weekend. Just remember who made it possible and FLY the FLAG of the USA proudly!!!!!

God Bless,

Sapo

I always am thinking of my Dad on Memorial Day. He was on of those who came back from the battle in the Pacific, part of the "Greatest Generation". I sure do miss him.... Thanks Dad! And thanks to all who served and those who still serve today.

Surfin'Sapo,

I wish a wonderful Memorial Day as well; however, I can not share the sentiments that this nation is the "greatest on earth." I can, however, thank my forebares, and others, in succeeding, right-minded and sensible generations, for the service given to us in the past, that brought us, in an organic fashion to a GREAT NATION.

But, sadly, "my guitar gently weeps," as the George Harrison/Beatles tune goes...That is not to knock our troops now serving our failing "state of affairs." I understand their duty.

To borrow a phrase from the radical constitutionalists, and Thomas Jeffersonian-ites, "I love my country but I hate my government."

We may be the richest nation on the earth, but we are also the biggest debtor....I wish most of us see through the facade of left versus right, in regards to politics, and sling a Nickaway blade with 10 oz of lead in the direction of a soap-box demagogue who'd disagree! It is time to awaken!

Our gubbermint now is waging war against our own tax paying citizens, mortaging our debt to foreign nations that our Grandchildren will pay for, with the next generation pointing fingers, as the latest populist-spewing, podium-beating "dumbdit" spews his rhetoric. In retrospect, I love our military past, but its time to overthrow this criminal enterprise fronting as a "mouthpiece for the lemmings, of the dullards, and for the suckers." Only those in the know will know when the time is ripe.

I've spent enough time at the VFW Hall and golfing with veterans to know!

Trust me, if it were legal to make home-made fireworks, I'd gladly make Roman Candles mixed with the incinerated remains of your Wall-Street shyster, your local CEOs and your state and federal officials, and blasting 'em into space!....And as the ashes fell, upon the graves of our soldiers and most righteous civic defenders, I'd get up and dance.

OK…………. well when life gives me lemons I make lemonade, when it seems unfair to me I will see it through others eyes, when you lend me a hand I will thank you, but when you give your life for me you can bet I will sure as hell HONOR you. Memorial Day is to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice with the right intentions and not based on our current events. My respects to all fallen and currently serving warriors.
