Hey guys I was thinking about launching my kayak off of that new calliche pad on carbon plant road, But I know nothing of fishing the back bay area.
I am not looking for peoples honey holes but I am curious about depth, structure and what the bottom is like there. _________________ Tis but a flesh wound. |

I went twice before fronts thinking we would get some action, using all artificial. Came home with Zero and I mean Zippo, nothin, nada. Not a bite not a bump. 2 worst skunkings of my life. Im sure theres fish there but my trips were worthless. My brother had 1 blowup but I still think it was a spooked mullet I wont go back, I waded the shore lines dragging a kayak and it was the mud that takes some work, probably knee deep to thigh at some places. May have been just been bad days, but I'll stick to my old honey holes. But on that note, I have heard of fish been caught back in there. |

If you're putting in there at Carbon Plant Road, you might want to try going downstream a ways, right before you hit the bay, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 mile there's a cut that runs north, take it and cut accross the peninsula into the bay,, there are reefs back there in the area.. try plugging around some of them. It's a pretty good paddle though.. _________________ It's a conspiracy, I tell ya,, There's no such thing as being too drunk to fish !!

Up off 37, gets you into the back of Nueces Bay. AKA "The Mud" Good red fishing, just nasty muddy boot sucking water though. |

It's the (Joe Fulton??) Industrial Corridor your looking for. Launch at the Port Authority park and go a mile up the river and then you can get around in there. Like said it's a muddy muddy place to go too but a ton of fun. _________________ What's good for me ain't necessarily good for the weak minded.... |

| you might want to try the back bay canals but would be a far paddle for a kayak. but your best bet would be fishing the reefs or by the pipelines |
