Went out Friday with my wife and her sister on a overcast day, stayed until about 2. Put on sunscreen and the anglers hat around 10. Man, I didn't realize how quick you can get sunburned nowadays. I spend Friday night and Saturday in misery, sunburned pretty bad on my face and inside of my legs. My wife's sister is fair and she was blistered. I didn't realize it at the time, I thought I was taking enough precautions. It really took away from a fun and pretty good fishing trip. I almost caught as many as they did.
Everybody says that the sun rays are more intense nowadays than when we were younger, I don't know if that is true but it does seem that way. I've always thought I'd get one sunburn to start the year, then tan and be used to it. But the sun seems more brutal now. I'll be putting on the sunscreen and hat at daylight from now on, I don't want any more problems. Also will probably put a tee top on the boat this year.
Anyway, most of you guys are probably aware of it already, but if you aren't using sun protection, it's time. |

| I think in most cases we don't spend as much time out doors as we used to. Most of use work in doors now and don't get that spring time burn then tan that last all summer. Its burn then get over it with out tanning then burn again. |

I think the right idea was already said. The less time you spend outdoors, the less melanin your skin produces, and the more severly burned you will get when exposed all day long.
When I was younger, I spent all day outside almost evyday that was warm or dry enough, and just got darker and darker. never needed sunblock.
Now that I am indoors most of the time, when I get a chance to get out in the sun, I even burn using 30 block. _________________ GOBZA!!!
