now that the assault style rifles are getting so expensive....if im gonna spend that kind of money for one, shouldnt i get my moneys worth? i need help figuring out wich one is best for the prise. if you had an extra grand to spend, what would you buy? thanks

I would go with the colt lt6920. It will hold its value over the others. In 100 years from now it will still be a COLT!!!! I have a colt and two de-tons. If you want cheap go to del-ton.com and buy a complete kit for 630.00. Their is a 3 montyh back order so you cant be ina hurry! I have been waiting on three for a couplt weeks now.

I've done a lot of research on that topic recently as I'm looking to buy one myself. I've talked to gunsmiths, owners, and read everything I could get my hands on. My choice will be a Bushmaster. There are a number of models depending on what you want. Go to their website at www.bushmaster.com and see what you think for yourself.

Personally - If I had an extra grand I would buy 4 or 5 SKS's. You can get one for around 200 to 250. I already have two. Great short range gun, cheap ammo. 30 and 40 round clips available.

For long range I went with the 270 WSM. Great, accurate long range gun out to at least 1000 yards - that's further than I can see for sure.

Ar's are great guns, but I think the above is the best of both worlds.

For a grand? Arsenal AK... They make the highest quality stamped AK's you can buy. They are built off of Bulgarian kits and the attention to detail is what you would expect on a quality AR rifle. They tend to be very accurate for a 7.62x39 AK.

That's just my opion based upon my preference of an AK over an AR. I own both a Bushmaster AR and an Arsenal AK, and there are good arguments for either one..
