| .243 Winchester all my life! I can shoot the balls off a tick with that gun! Wouldnt switch to any other caliber unless i was going after big game. Like stated, 1 shot in the vital or head and they are finished. |

.270 WSM in a Browning A-Bolt with a Leupold 4.5-14.
I shot a Remington 700 7 mag for years.
The .270 WSM equals or outperforms the 7 mag, and is a LOT easier on the shoulder. |

.223 Sako for neck shots and predators, hogs, etc. I've killed about 40 deer with it in my life, with the biggest being a 200lb 160 B&C 12 pt, so even a little bullet in the right spot is deadly.
When I'm serious I use my 7 Mag with lead tips and shoot for the heart.
ALWAYS A LEUPOLD SCOPE, NOTHING ELSE WILL EVER SIT ON MY GUNS |

I haven't hunted deer in forever, but I have a .264 win mag that was handed down to me. Flat shooting powerhouse of a gun. Non-replaceable family heirloom. Hope to hand it down someday. _________________ Save the seagrass......Shoot some ducks |

| .25-06 for deer 300 mag for hogs and elk or if I get real mad at deer. At my girlfriends ranch I have to use a bow which in turn makes me mad at deer. Jason Slocum |

I have taken deer with a .222 up to a 7 mag. INHO the 243 can't be beat for most shots around here for deer. With that said I still like my 270 an 308 for hogs LOL. _________________ Shane |

| I started out with the traditional Marlin 30-30 when I was a kid. Then I decided I needed a small cannon to shoot whitetails with so I got a Model 70 in 7mm Rem Mag. I hunted with it for years all over the country and have taken Muley's , blacktails, even an elk. I still have it but it rarely makes it to the field anymore. I now prefer to use a Savage 110 in .243, nice light recoil and I like the accutrigger. It kills deer and hogs just as dead without the wear and tear on my shoulder. |

have hunted with .223, .243, .243 wssm, .270, .308, 30-30, 30-06,
favorite is .270 currently remington 721 older gun,
some one stold my .270 savage with composite stock.. i liked that one..
the mrs is using a .243 wssm.. wow it has almost as much kick as a .270,, have to get on her case cuz not sure what bullet she was using but last 4 deer 2 were blown up.. thought she use a .308 with a wad cutter.
but planning a trip to alaska.. so my .270 will be way to small for some of the potential problems up there.. _________________ Fish and Hunt Baby.... so tight lines and clear scopes. |

Ruger M77 25-06. Wouldn't prefer anything else. Never missed or lost a deer with it. Great flat shooting caliber with enought knock down power for deer in Texas. Killed my share of hogs with it too. Just change ammo. For hogs I shoot a 115gr. pertition. Penetrates very well and usually goes clean through. In my opinion I can't find a bette all-around calber. A .270 comes close though. _________________ "There she is! Fish on..."
