First of all, if you slay them.. dont post the pics up.. just say you kept your dinner for the night..
Been down there spring, summer and fall.. Its like with the Pomp window.. when it is on it is on..
I think break away has a post for fishing schedules or search board.. but shows months and what is catching..
the biggest problem all the way down, if you are not paying attention to weather it can get bad real quick.. this 4th July had nothing but rain.. but still fished and had a nice harvest (have to be politically correct wow..)
I typically avoid the big holiday weeks just due to lots of others down during holidays.
I prefer the spring and fall, the heat is not so bad nor is it too cold.. But when ever you go just work the beach and find the fish that is what maks PINS So AWESOME.. there is always something going on.. _________________ Fish and Hunt Baby.... so tight lines and clear scopes. |

In my 20+ years of fishing PINS, I will have to vote for September as the best month (usually that is). If conditions are right, and you know how to fish structure, sometimes in September you can get into a late season Trout bite coupled with an early fall finger mullet migration, and the surf just explodes. We have spent many September days with non stop action on the south end. It is not uncommon to have ten different species hitting at the same time when the conditions all come together. Redfish, Trout, Black Drum, Whiting, Sheephead, Mackerel, Pompano, Jack Crevalle, Mangrove Snapper, Skipjack, and even the occasional weird fish like stargazers, Gafftop, and yes Hardeads too. It's all good down the beach in September unless there is a big low brewing offshore.

Yeah, I was there for four days during fourth of July weekend. Rained the whole time. But we still had a good time. Fishing was impossible due to the weed.
Seems like anytime from spring to fall would be a good time to be on PINS. IT'S ALWAYS A GOOD TIME TO BE ON PINS!!!!

| Just a heads up. If you go in April thru late June you will be dealing with the sargasium. Trout bite can be killer that time of year if you can work around it. I'd have to agree with the September suggestion!! |
