Decided to try my luck on the north side,Going on tite lines post from the day before. The weather and water looked perfect and finger mullet
migration was on a full swing.Used some live shrimp under a lemon float
and managed some mangrove snappers.Slide lined with a blue runner, with no luck but had visitors from king and some tarpon but no takers. Reds were slow on the north side but the south side was on fire, with a couple of triple hook ups on reds. North side had some small sharks some huge spanish macs and a few reds. Spanish macs hit silver spoons ,mano lures, live and dead mullet, and some Artificial lures.Nice day out to be fishing, Heres some photos of some of the fish THAT WERE CAUGHT And water conditions.

NICE. I should be out there tomorrow after the Mrs. leaves for work. I was under the impression that smacks normally come closer to shore during the early morning hours? _________________ I'm a Mawg: Half Man, Half Dog. I'm my own best friend! |

I fished the N side from sunup to sundown, it was a beautiful day on the rocks. Just to add to what has already been said there were 3 really nice Kings landed also all in the 40" or better range and a few more reds in the afternoon.
I managed to actually land a small snook this morning on a golden mullet swimbait(good start) to the day day that included a grouper, 25" red, a couple flounder, several decent spanish, half dozen small trout (only saw two keepers all day) Lots of Mangrove and of course the other nongame species. Mostly on live finger mullet today, all the trout on 51mr bnesht.
I suppose I was caught tying one on w/ my new little red rock/pier wagon $53 w/ tax at Loews (garden section) I think half dozen people asked where I got it from. |
