Yeah, it's really going up fast.
The amazing thing is that when I was working in Europe and the UK six years ago, the price of gas was about 4 bucks a gallon back then. They sold it by the liter at the pump. Taxes were a large part of that price. I imagine its much higher over there now.
Most of the folks over there drove 3 cylinder cars that got about 50 mpg. They also had great public transportation so they didn't need to drive that much. A couple of the guys I worked with in London didn't even own a car.
I've heard that we can expect $4 a gallon by early summer. I'll be doing a lot more of my fishing closer to home! |

This is gonna hurt some good folks. Instead of going out for entertainment I will be hanging out more in my shop , frying fish and hoisting store bought brews. When the fish runs out...well just have to find other things to fry. hmmmmmmmmmm ? _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Diesel went up 10 cents over night. Like bk005 said I about broke my neck. The banks here are starting put up loan offices at all the gas stations. We also seem to have lot of ATM's coming up missing lately. Now my question is did a truck full of gold misplace its load and it's in the tanks at the gas stations? Going to rent a horse to pull my boat back and forth to the launch. |

Here's a note from one of the financial research outfits that I saw yesterday.
Absent a sizable retreat in crude oil prices, gasoline prices are likely to approach $4.00 / gal. as the summer driving season begins.
Gasoline prices have been fairly resilient to rising crude oil prices over the last few months. The impact of higher crude oil prices has largely been absorbed at the refinery level where profit margins have been significantly reduced from what had been lofty levels. Refinery margins however, typically expand in the second quarter with the onset of the summer driving season. We expect this year will be no different, thus higher crude oil prices should translate into higher prices at the pump. |
