I think about the troops everyday, especially one that comes to mind that wont be home for Thanksgiving. During the holidays ,and i'm not bragging my wife sends 2 doz homemade cookies with me as i go to the base everyday and i drop them off with the military gate guards every morning. The smiles i get from those boys is worth a million bucks everytime. They call me the cookie guy but Deb gets all the credit and she does it from the heart. On Thanksgiving day Christmas day she sends homemade pies. Its just a drop in the bucket for some that are away from home this time of year. Capt.Mike knows where i'm coming from. HOO-YA!!!

I make sure I tell each and every active duty soldier I talk to thank you for their service to our country everyday at work. Especially when I get a call from those guys and gals over in the middle east on their satellite phones.

I have heard the rockets and gunfire in the background on several calls from deployed man and women who decided their one call for the week would this time be used to check on their finances.

I have spoken with wife's who have lost their husbands, and almost cried with them helping them put back together the financial pieces. Looking up the deceased information.

http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/

I have talked with soldiers trying to find a way to make ends meet after medical discharges with disability payments being their only source of income.

Because of these calls, I end each and every call with a deployed soldier in a war zone that I have the privledge to talk to by telling them "Godspeed soldier. Come home safe."

These guys and gals needs our support, and I appluade you and your wife Stan, and everyone else that chips in.

Its not too late to invite a soldier to your table for Thanksgiving either, if you have the space. http://www.adoptaussoldier.org/

You can also text message your thanks and support to a soldier at 89279.
