My wife had a "thing" tonight, so I got off of work this afternoon, stopped at Wataburger for some fuel and lannched at Bluffs Landing by around 4. I made the full circuit around Pita. Did spook a few reds coming across a little pot hole, and thought I might have found an area that was holding some fish. Threw tops and plastics until about 6:30 this evening and took off to sounds of thunder from the T-storms that were sliding through. Caught one 15" trout (released) and had a few blowups. Still a nice way to finish up a day. Raining on the south side as I type...

I had a feeling that was you - my buddy and I drifted by you. You had better luck than we did. Embarassed Only skipjack for us. The weed is real bad in alot of areas. Sure was a nice afternoon though.

Thanks for the report, I did a little repair welding for buckey yesterday, he runs the Fishermans fish market in the bluff. I can always get a good update from those boys heres what i got. Right now most of the fish that are being caught comercially are are coming in from ALAZAN bay, drum that is. Aparrantly there are about 30-40 commercial fisherman working that area all of them out of Rivera. Only about 2 or 3 from the bluff. Fish are being caught in the medows and nearby areas such as marker 95. Of course these guys are only taking drum and by trotlines only. The men i talked to are seeing large schools of reds and drum mostly on the west side...or was that on the east side Wink . Never the less i anticipate some good fishing coming up real soon, and i'll be out there to head them off at the pass. The commercial fishermen are a good source of information they live on the water and feed their families from its bounty its a shame that they get such a bad rap from the dude fishermen. But everybody has a right to work and feed their family, just like me, and i'm sure there will be some folks up in Austin who will enjoy some of that 2200 lbs of drum being loaded yesterday. They were bound for a market in Austin. So in the future dont be afraid to wave at a commercial fisherman, and if he flips you off in return just smile and let it pass because they have been crapped for many years by various organzations. What can i say except that everybody i know puts their pants on the same way ...one leg at a time. Anyway, nuff of that talk, for us locals its that time of year when the bay starts to empty out with hunting season and all, so the the fish will get a chance to calm down and relax a bit. All they have to worry about now is us. Very Happy have a great day. ims

Capt. Nate and I were out yesterday and managed several trout (one at 22"). Other than that it was just nice to feel a NE wind. Unfortunately then it blew NW, NE again, W, NE again, and finally E and never above 7 or 8 mph.
