This is pretty cool and looks like it would be alot easier than traditional methods of getting unstuck (if it works) .

Not a bad idea I just wonder how safe that would be filling up tires with exhaust gasses and carbon monoxide.. Also dont know if there would be enouph exhaust pressure too fill up our big tires to 65 psi.. But if it would work that would be pretty darn sweet..

i was almost killed 6 yrs ago fighting a truck fire. it was the type of truck that paints the stripes on highways. they use glass beads of some type, epoxy, paint and some other things that i don't recall. anyway, the hopper used to cook the stuff on the truck was fueled by propane. they had a flat, used the propane (we think, it was never proved) to air up the tire, and continued on. the hopper caught fire, the truck caught fire, the tires caught fire. while making our attack the tire we think had propane in it failed. this sent up a huge fire ball, huge for a truck fire anyway! anyhow i got a concussion and lost 3 fillings in my mouth...i prefer good ole air in tires myself....

Capt. Red

I striped highways for a couple of years in my youth.

That was most likely a Thermoplastic striper and it would have been equiped with up to six 100 lb bottles of propane. Glass beads were applied to the stripe to give them reflectivity at night.

Here's the deal. The striper trucks are equiped with very large compressors. The plastic is sprayed onto the road using compressed air. There would have been no need to use the propane unless the compressor was not working. Our trucks were always equiped with air hose hookups for airing up tires.

Very nice idea. How much back pressure would it take to kill the engine?

if these bags are of the same type we use for rescue type situations here, they would be a low pressure bag. 14 psi would lift the entire end of a stuffed excursion. they are about 3/4 '' thick and will fit between frame and sand. only concern would be to debris on beach or screws under frame to puncture bag, however- being low pressure bags, they can be patched with duct tape on the spot. i don't know the price of these bags , but would be a great tool to have on board at the beach.

OK I just got back from party city and have these Jacks/balloons now on sale for the next 100 callers for the special price of 19.95 and as an added bonus for those pesky flats, is our remarkable instant flat fixer. Just attach the can to valve stem and vol la. Add 14.95 shipping and handling charges. ( not responsible for anything) Laughing

Guy's...we were using exahust bag jacks back in the 1960's to lift our dune buggies in the sand. The military developed them back in the late 1940's or 1950's. They were made of rubberized canvas then later vucanized vinyl and canvas. So this is nothing new. In fact there are other companies that still make them is all sizes too. Big enough to lift 747's.
Cheers!
Howard

They sell them in Victoria at the Chevy dealers Pro Shop 361-578-0181. I called yesterday, Fits under the body or frame and will lift 8000 lbs about 36". He said about 3 to 5 min. to lift a 3/4 deisel extended cab 4x4. The price is only $275.00.
