Just spent a week chasing cow elk in Northern New Mexico and the rainbows were hangry! After climbing mountains each morning I was tired, but I wasn’t about to waste the mid-day rest by napping. Grabbed the 4wt and played with the fish in the pond below our cabin. Now I’m ready to get home and catch up on work, but that was a great week full of different adventures. Oh, and I got an elk too. Very Happy

In the mountains outside Raton on a ranch called Rafter Four. They had two little lakes that had rainbows and I spent time fishing both every time we weren’t hunting. Climbing all that vertical stuff wore me out at 8,000 feet of elevation, but I wasn’t about to miss a chance to play with those cold water beauties.
