The cold north wind has been howling for 3 days.
The water clarity on a scale 1 to 10 with 10 clear water is currently negative 2
The current is ripping north to south.
The wave height has dropped from 10 foot height to 4 foot height.
If you have plans for along drive to surf fish SBH I would suggest you delay that trip.
Three days of sunshine and low wind speed are needed.

You forgot 'pay close attention to the tides'
and 'Jeez, the beach got skinny around SBH'!

Yesterday, I was scoping out the area for Barefoot Mardi Gras, from Access Rd 4 to 6, and it looked like the tides run all the way up to the dunes pretty regular.

Headed south with plans on running to the Bowl, but it was VERY skinny and pretty rutted out in many places. Wave run-up wasn't all the way to the dunes, but then again, it wasn't high tide either. And your -2 assessment of the clarity was spot on! Shocked

All in all, it was generally miserable conditions.

Sunday Feb 19 update
This morning the wind is calm
The beach is wide. You might even be able to pump ghost shrimp.
The water clarity has already improved to a 3. But still has a brown stain.
Very little weed visible.
Maybe tomorrow if the water temperature gets to 60.

Thank you for the surf reports Sinker. I, for one, appreciate any reports of fishing and/or fishing locations on this website named corpusfishing.com. I am guilty of not posting any reports for a few months but hope to resolve that situation soon.

I miss my buddy Stan.
