Mary and I get tired of seeing her at the house yesterday so was a sunny day with no wind decided to go to various places in spend the day. Started out at a frigid Rio grande. Fish for about an hour and only caught one fish but it was a story. You can see in the picture that the river is iced over on the sides. It is one picture I hooked into a brown trout and as I was fighting it is swam under the ice sheet. I'm looking down at it through the ice wondering how I'm going to get it up. Finally swam out jumped up into the air flipped and got off the hook. That was fine cuz it was going to be a catch and release
anyway.
While I was fishing I saw a bald eagle flying up and down the river, obviously hunting. Sometime later I hear a bunch of geese squawk and ducks quack and a flock of ducks takes off the water. Apparently the eagle found what it was looking for. I also looked up and saw this guy playing King of the mountain.
It was just after noon and we decided to drive up into Taos and go grab a bite to eat. However, the two restaurants that we wanted to eat at were closed on Mondays and Tuesdays as it was their weekend. So we just grabbed some burgers and brews and drove up to Taos Ski Valley just to take a look.
