Wed. Morning great!!!! Made it into town about 530 6 am. Put in at billings ran north hit upwards towards shamrock. Bam found the trout. 5 in all fishin slow edge drop off. Smallest was 19 5/8. Decided to run back S look for some reds. Hit the flats south of power lines and Nas. More trout all over 20 also. Threw some live bait. Set a rattle cork up and was throwing topwaters doing my usual. All sudden drag on live bait takes off rod comes from north end of boat to south end and over the rail......... Went back to spot five times today lookin for rod or rattle cork floating nada. Did a real through search nada. What ever it was had some shoulders to it. Saw game fish tearing up bait on flat by that bluff marina place whatever it is by the pier. Whatever it was was big and more than one of them... So went south nighthawk picked up two reds on roach killers. Not a bad day but good.. found the fish.. went n looked for rattle cork rod one last time nada... Ah well. Guess I'm getting slow at 50... But the memory will remain had fun despite the tackle loss's . Had recently had boat in shop new one injector rail harness was shorting out. So this was first trip back on water purred like a cat. Good luck God bless and y'all have a good one

After I found what average depth they were at it got was easier. They still hadn't or were just beginning to break up from cool front water temp is or was 74 off my boat. Depth was definetly the key color too. Most were on doa cal shad croaker on weedless weighted hook.
