Took a trip over to the Rio Grande today. This first picture is from above the gorge. The Rio Grande is down below. What's cool about this picture you can see how the Earth had separated millions of years ago to allow the Rio Grande to flow through.

Here are a couple pictures of the Rio Grande down where I was fishing.

Those are great pics. I would think the Rio Grande opened the earth up rather than vice versa, but I'm no geologist. Still awe inspiring any way you wanna look at it.

Seriously? Wow. Ok get ready google you got some work to do. Thanks for the new research topic. The closest I've been is Big Bend and would have loved to have a geologist with us.

Here's a brief snippet explaining about it. Several years ago I was up in Colorado and was actually at the headwaters of the Rio Grande where it first come out of the ground. So I've seen the Rio Grande from the beginning, middle and where it enters into the Gulf

So many places to see. Heck I haven't even seen the Grand Canyon yet, and I consider myself at least modestly traveled. Come on retirement, lottery, adult adoption by wealthy couple.. whatever comes first

Posted this on the fly fishing section but I just had to show it here. Got a 20 inch rainbow on this fly yesterday.
