Headed out with a few buddies at sunrise. Stayed pretty close, between Pita and Pure Oil. Was on some trout and a red early using a corky. Had 4 trout and a red in the boat by 8 30. My friends were tossing topwater lures when one hooks into this stud.

Thats a 23.5 inch FAT trout for his new PB!

A few casts later hooks into this one...

Breaks his PB from a few casts before with this 25 incher!

The rest of us caught decent trout in the 16 to 19 inch range to almost make up a 3 man limit of trout as well as 2 reds. A buddy close by also caught his limit of trout releasing 2 over 20 and a stud tourney red at 27.75 inches. (He's a big guy, making all decent fish look small)

Enjoy!

Good report and nice fish. Sure beats all my little dinks I got yesterday afternoon. I noticed out in that area there are three different types of water. Almost Crystal clear, a transition zone of greenish water and then dirty stained water. Which zone did you find them in?

I've noticed the same. Oddly enough we found fish in all 3. I typically fish the transition zone. Somewhere between super clear and ultra dirty. One of these fish was on a color line between the real dirty of emmords and the clearer water to the east. The other was in more of a clearer area. I'd say just slightly less visibility than clear. We worked a small series of depth changes that had sand pockets mostly just north of pure oil.

Love these reports! It looks like the 5 trout limit is having a very positive impact on the resource!

Seriously! I've caught more 20+ inch trout this year than any year before. I've also started logging how many keeper trout we've caught since September 1st. Right now I'm at 98. Seems like its a pretty healthy fishery.

Hold up.... got my East and West mixed up... lol😳

I was on the East side of Emmords and Natural Gut. At least got the North and South right hah! My bad! But still a series of depth changes, with mixed water coloration and clarity changing the farther East you go.

I feel pretty dumb right about now lol
