My buddy and I caught the 2:00 boat over Saturday. Surf was chocolate milk pass the end of jetty. No bait or fish in surf, went back in channel and managed a few mullet and a croaker. Fish surf nothing tried channel side soaked mullet for awhile and nothing. Switch to Knock-N-Traps for the night and moved back into channel. Between the two of us we managed twelve snook two being in the slot, four solid trout 20"-22" and a few over size reds. I would have to say the Texas snook population is on the comeback. Made the best of it we could with bad conditions. Ala and all turned into a good b-day trip after all. Tight Lines

Frederick,
Can you report on what the repair job looked like over on the North? I imagine it can't be too much if it is open already. Did they at least fix the big break in the concrete that is almost impassable with a cart these days?
Thanks,
Donald

Donald,
They haven't started, going to close it down this morning for two months.
They had an excavator with jack hammer attachment staged on the beach. It appears they are going to demolish part of the walkway from where the rocks are on the rock back towards the beach to what extent I'm not sure. Talking with Fishermen's Wharf they will still be taking people over you just won't be able access the jetty from the beach out.

Great to learn you had a enduring Happy Birthday trip and congratulations on the Texas snook! My wife calls those kind of trips an endurance contest! Laughing
