| It's interesting to me with gasoline refining here in Corpus Christi that the gasoline prices in Corpus Christi are at least $.25 higher per gallon than in San Antonio and Austin! |

2.25 in San Angelo tonight. I'll go to Midland in the morning and the prices will be 2.50-2.60. Have been traveling to Kingwood a lot recently and pay 2.10.
Go figure.
BTW, what are the prices in Corpus Christi? |

Went to San Pedro, CA last weekend to arrange a new car for my Coastie, and it was $4.28 there, and $4.75 near LAX when I returned the rental!!!
She got a new Subaru Crosstrek, and we shipped the 2003 Jeep Wrangler back here. So if you see a maroon soft-top with a 'Life is Good' wheel cover, wave! (Or you can always wave at me in the 2000 white Wrangler, outfitted totally with LSU Gear!).
So, I don't wanna hear about high gas prices!!!! [Semper Paratus] |

I should have added, I left CC paying $2.209 for 5 gallons at Sam's(enough to get me to SA) and filled up in SA at $2.029 at Costco. The Cal. state tax is probably much higher than Tx. They have to pay for all of their liberal policies somehow! |

During Oct. 2017 & 18 I paid consistently paid 8 0r 9 cent less per gal. for diesel in Corpus . Was a little surprised this Oct. to find the price exactly the same as my fill up here just south of Austin . I had always assumed the price was higher the farther away from the distiller (Corpus ) . But apparently there is more to it then that . _________________ Fishing is not a matter of life or death it is much more important then that !

Bit of a tangent, but it fits within the theme of "why is the cost of this fuel not reflective of what I'm seeing"?
Years ago, it was $5 to fill a 20 lb propane tank. The it was $8, then $12, then it finally settled at $16. And gas was just as bad.
Fast forward a few fracking plays, and we can't get rid of natural gas fast enough. Somebody please 'esplain to me, like I'm in the 3rd Grade, why I'm still paying $16 for a 20 lb refill?????? |

| It looks like Corpus Christi's price on gasoline is still higher than Austin or San Antonio by at least $.10-20 a gallon, and there is no transportation cost added, thus the local wholesalers are really taking advantage of the public. |

The fact is, we became the LARGEST oil exporting port in the US a few years ago (and the port's plans intend to keep it that way for decades)...just because we make the gas here doesn't make it cheap for us here anymore. Once we earned that title, you can kiss the low gas prices goodbye. They're selling our once low-cost gas for a much better price to other places.
I remember before the port grew, Corpus was one of the CHEAPEST places in the state to fill up. _________________ All things will pass. Have a Blessed day. |
