Making a trip down after thanksgiving with my young son. I usually fish the north jetty, but understand the boat is down and may not be up and running. Has anyone had success at the south, either Packery or even Fish Pass? Any reports or advice would be appreciated.

Mike there used to be a guy who called himself "the shore bound angler" and had his own website. It's down now, but if you can find out who he is he could tell you daily what was going on at the CC Packery jetty. Maybe he will reply here, but I have no ideal what his handle is other than the shore bound angler. Possibly Tyler knows him and can get him to report here.

Mike,
Friends recently reporting gator trout and reds on soft plastics South jetty, last word on Jetty boat should be running by Wednesday 27th. The last few trips down we've found flounder and black drum with some reds shallow on South jetty. We're waiting for boat to be fixed before next trip, until then Rainbows on the Guadalupe river. Tight Lines

Thanks for the replies.

Fred,
Same approach on the south jetty as the north? Channel on outgoing tide and surf/gulf with the incoming? I have tended to avoid the south in the past because of the crowds and also the really shallow surf since I usually like to chase summertime trout and always found that St Joes usually held better fish.

Mike,
I fish all jetties the same way with same results. I found on South jetty it's better the further out you fish. Still target shallow surf on way out, habits are hard to break.
