| The moon was awesome looking early this morning driving into work. Just an FYI, tomorrow night is a blood moon and also a total lunar eclipse. The only one for 2019. Enjoy..................cC |

For XMas, the lovely Wife-Unit got me a nice telescope.
Can't wait for the Blood Moon (although the extra light is making it tough to see Saturn, which is in conjunction with Venus in the pre-dawn hours)

As You Were, on Saturn!
Jupiter is in conjunction with Venus, pre-dawn.
Saturn went by last week, and while still close, it rises above the eastern horizon about the same time as the Sun this weekend, so it's totally washed out.
But I do love my new telescope! I recommend Stellarium for a free star guide off the interwebs. Used it for years with my binoculars, and it's really handy.
[Updated - 0:Dark Hours, 20Jan19. Got a good view of Jupiter this morning, and even imaged 3 of the 4 moon of Jupiter!!!] |

The clear skies made for excellent predawn star gazing.
Hopefully, same conditions tonight for lunar eclipse.
A great family event and admission is free! |
