Are there any plans for repairing the channel banks? The South shore is really in sad shpe. Essentially the retaining block wall is compromised it's entire length.

No fish yet. Wind is blowing a gale out of the east and the swells are rolling straight down the channel. Water is a murky brown/green

It is amazing how much damage there is on the south jetty towards the bridge.

Waves are a powerful force. I've not heard of any plans.

That's not waves. It's inept engineering and cheap construction. A paved road over a bed of stabilized sand would have prevented it.

I really hope the responsible parties just don't walk away from it, an open Packery channel is essential to my retirement plans. Laughing

Doesn't the city of CC own the responsibility of maintenance now? They seem to control everything else in the park.

Hate to ask this but is anyone really surprised ? The Corps of Engineers built a structure that was not designed to withstand hurricane force wind and surge ? Really ? What a great idea. The base sits on sand only . The patch they use looks familiar. Oh right , looks like the same type patch we use to fix potholes on Alameda and Ocean Drive only bigger. But .. we need to get this fixed. Let's let the taxpayers (us ) pay for it. Jeez.
Feeling surly tonight.
