I was figuring with all the cold and nasty weather back there in Corpus that I might give you guys a little diversion while you're thinking about going out fishing. Some friends came in from Sinton so we took them down to the Rio Grande to check out the Gorge.

On our drive we saw a small flock of Big Horns so I decided to stop so they can get a picture of one that was standing on a rock. As they got closer it started stirring and then just decided to lay down on Top of the Rock unfazed that they were even there

The next evening, New Year's Eve, we went up to Taos Ski Valley to watch their laser and firework show

Upon completion of the fireworks we drove down to the Taos plaza where the mayor put on a free pig roast for the entire community.

New Year's Day we took my son his wife in our two grandsons who were in from Corpus Christi over to the Taos Pueblo to watch their Turtle dances. This is a religious ceremony and no recording devices of any sort or allowed. The kiddos wanted to do some snow stuff but being that there's no natural snow in New Mexico right now we drove over to Angel Fire to do what they call their polar coaster. It's an inner tubing Hill of four lanes that is 1100 ft long. This is the four of us going down the hill.

At the end of The Run they have giant bean bags to stop you. That's my son on the left flying out of his inner tube and me on the right doing mine

We got back in time to see this gorgeous sunset from my recliner

Then we woke up the next day to the setting of the supermoon
