Have not fished since before Harvey, and had some friends in from out of town that 'wanted to do what I do all the time', so I loaded up 2 long rods and a 9' spinning rod, bought some fresh dead shrimp and a couple of pony mullet and headed down to PINS.

We got to the 20MM about 645 AM, and set up shop. Dead Wrong Dale was actually right...calm winds out of the south, low waves about 1-2 foot, spread out nicely, and water clarity was a solid 7.5/10...beautiful green water...looking good so far.

We set up the short rod first, old faithful, fresh dead/pink fishbone, lob it into the first gut. As I was baiting up the long rods with cut mullet, first fish of the day...big fat whiting...back he went.

I got the long lines out and nothing happened for about 30 minutes...time to light a cigar and chill.

Small rod starts screaming and friend's son is hooked up with a nice slot red...landed, 24" long...PERFECT.

About 5 minutes later, the Sealine 30 starts singing...LOUD. Grabbed the rod and the line went slack, lost this one. Oh well, bait up, and sling it out again.

half way through the cigar, it goes off again...put my buddy on a nice oversize red...landed it, measured it, 34" long, photos on his phone, and we let it go.

For the next 3 hours, we steadily caught fish, and ended up with 4 keeper reds in the 24-26" range...beautiful blue tails, beautiful pale bronze color, healthy looking first.

Right before we left, we got another hook up...and we ended up landing a 4.5' Blacktip and got one more hookup and landed about a 4 footer as well.

All in all...great day on the water. All but one red were caught on cut mullet...the first was on fresh dead/pink fishbite.

Great day.

Awesome report - hey, a thought for us. Lets start lying about whats happening around the 20, too many people are going there - lets add 5 miles to where we say we are catching fish.

Nice Report! Sounds like I should have made the long drive. Fished SBHP and caught 2 rat reds, and 5 hardheads. It was beautiful, and as always, had a great time. Congratulations on your Excellent catching.
