The Wife-Unit and I went to the MEPS station in SA early yesterday morning to witness the final swearing in of our youngest daughter, as she embarks on her duty in the US Coast Guard. She is off to Cape May, New Jersey for basic. Go get em, Sweetie!!!

That is AWESOME!!! Tell her thank you for making that choice!

I sometimes wish I had gone that route instead of going straight into law enforcement. Please keep us updated on her progress.

Congratulations to Lindsey and to her proud parents. Everyone should be proud of her accomplishments. New Jersey always receives a bad rap but Cape May is pretty. Seeing a different part of the country will only add to her experiences

Not sure how long she will be in Cape May, but I was at OCS in Newport, R.I. until mid November. She will need someone to send her some warm civvies. Weather won't be like the Texas coast. BRRR and damp.

Yea, Me and Mama are pretty proud. She is carrying on a 3rd generation tradition of Military service. GrandDad(s)-Retired Coastie, Retired Navy, Grandma-Navy Vet, Dad-Army Vet, Aunt-Retired Navy, Uncle-Army Vet.

Guess it runs in the Family. Smile

Surely not the worst thing that can run in a family. Neither my dad (WWII Navy), nor I (24 1/2 years Navy) regret a minute of our service.
