My best friends birthday is coming up in 2 weeks. The problem is when he wants something he usually just goes and gets it. He recently bought a jonboats and fishes almost every weekend. I'm looking for a gift he doesn't know he needs yet. What are some of yalls favorite fishing item you never knew you needed til you got one? Or maybe something you'd like but don't really wanna drop the dough on? I've got a few ideas just looking for a few more! Thanks in advance!

not sure of price range but on the low end: measuring board, drift anchors and rope
medium: stake out stick and rope, battery charger
high: trolling motor
higher: trolling motor, battery, connections and wire

I'm looking in the 100 dollar range. I don't mind doing multiple smaller items. I like the idea of a measuring board. That's definitely something he does not have

A "quality" filet knife. I know I love my collection of knifes, and have specific ones for specific fish. "The right tool for the job" is essential. And if it's in a shrink-wrap package, it's likely not a "quality" knife.

My sister got me a bogagrip one year. I would never have spent the money on it myself, it but I like having it now.

^ Great idea! Otherwise, in that same cost area you might consider a good quality(Goretex) rain jacket, wading boots, wading belt, including accessories. Good luck making your choice.

I thought about the boga. Seems like a cool gift. May just have to do that. Thanks for the input!

If your family or friends like to fish for reds and trout, you can't go wrong with Trout Supports DVD's on redfish and trout fishing. I purchased one for my brother and he loved it. I also caught my all time record trout this summer after watching those dvd's. There is allot of good information in them that will help you become a better fisherman. They are 2 hours long and well worth the money. Anyway, it's a great gift idea for an avid fisherman.
