Well I am curious to know what this will do to the fishing, that is- if anyone dares go outside. The blast hits at midnight, so we won't know the true effect since most of us are sleeping around that point in time. I do remember my pops telling me about a similar scenario happening in Port Mansfield back in the 80s or 90s.. the walls of the marina were lined with folks slinging trout out of the water. And even the land owners were keeping people off their property because they were worried about the trout population which had seemingly all escaped the flats in favor of the deeper marina water. I will have to try my hand at this in the morning- and I am also hoping this post keeps me accountable, so that I can report something tangible back to yous guys. Anyways, post your experiences and good luck out there, and wise decision staying inside if that's what you choose. Winds are supposed to be a bit gusty.

3 days at 40 degs will push them to deeper waters. Let the big girls go for seed. People want to keep the big Trout there is no sport in that. Keep big reds and Drum. My opinion only. IMS

Back in the 80's--maybe 86-88--we had very cold weather in the 30's on the gulf coast, I lived/worked in Matagorda.
We went to Port Lavaca turning basin, the fisherman were 4 deep, throwing heavy lead head lures, and snagging VERY large trout.
The game wardens were there in plain clothes, having a fit trying to stop the madness--oh, the old days====
