I just got finished with 3 back to back floater trips and have finally gotten some rest... anyway here's a recap from a fun week.

Oct 28-30

Rough enough all trip to prevent any real rest, which always makes it extra plesent. Thank goodness the fishing was extremely slow! Lol

Anyway, pushed out to Santa Ana for the first night... there were fish there but it was a very tough, inconsistant night. Wound up with 7 nice ones and 8 barely keepers for all our efforts. Motored to Nancen for the second half of it. Tons of cudas just shredding everything. Wound up catching 12 more nice ones and headed home at 10pm with 27 yft 66 bft and a dozen cudas.

Nov 2-3

Headed to Boomvang and started the troll at 5p. Got 3 for our efforts. First 2 drifts had some activity, but between the cudas, flipper, and some plain ol bad luck, the results weren't there. Headed to Nancen at 11. Slow but steady bite averaging 1 per drift. Then at 6 am the morning bite was on fire. The bite lasted well after day break, and we were able to finish off the limit after 6 laps of trolling. Also got a nice hoo and escolar.

Great fishing with great people is ALWAYS a pleasure.

36 yft 30 bft 10 cuda 1 escolar 1 wahoo

Nov 4-6

Loaded up 10 "Tuna Heads" and departed to beautiful weather at 6am. Arrived Boomvang at 3:30 pm. And deploeyed the spread... First 2 passes provided 3 bites for 2 yft. Slowed down pretty fast but put 2 more yft and 2 wahoo in the box before dark.

Started fishing at Boomvang around 730 and had a slow/ok bite for the first few passes due to some moon up. On the final drift before the moon was going set, all bite doed... then a nice mako swam up. Hooked her on the t-rex and had her boatside about 45 minutes later. An hour after that, had her boxed amd iced. She went 632# at the dock. The bite stayed off so we headed to Nancen.

Arrived to a decent bite at 12:30 am at Nancen. Had fish with us for a 4 hour drift, but about an hour i to the drift the number of uft around us trippled but the bite virtually died...glass minnows...so frustrating wound up putting a few more on the box til daylight and were 4 shy of our limit when it was obvious the morning troll wasnt going to pay off.

Since it was such a beautigul day we opted to go fish some rocks near the flower gardens for a few hours to kill time before the evening troll. Drifting 3 different spots we got about 2 dozen graysbys and comb groupers, along with some almacos, bluelines and a 78# black grouper.

When we arrived back at Nancen at 6pm, we couldn't buy a yft bite on the troll and were getting nervous abput the evening bite... but wound up, popping our last 4 yft in about 20 minutes of fishing and slow boated it home to offload at 6am.

Great trip and had alot of fun with the Tuna Heads! My boat doesn't have another floater scheduled til Dec, so yall have fun and be safe out there!

Awesome trips!!! I been keeping up with you on some other boards and wondered if you were going to post here.

We were out with Timmy on the 28-30. It was bad rough! I spent a little time at the rail Friday afternoon, and I wasn't fishing!!! Embarassed We caught a bunch but sure had to work for them. Those cuda's were terrible!!!!

That last trip was close to perfect I would say. We had hoped to do some deep drops but it didn't happen. Yall just killed em and that Mako is incredible!
