Honestly I haven't tried this yet, but if you watch all three parts, this chef shows exactly how it's done, and then he feeds it to customers who can't believe it's jack crevalle they're eating. I might have to take one home and give this a shot.

I bet it can be okay. I would be happy to try it at least once.

Ditto here. I'm not going to bring home a dozen of them, but one for curiosity's sake might answer the question for me.

It's all in how you cook them. Same with Bluefish. Not all fish can just be breaded and fried.

I tried everything from marinated in beer and grilled, and yes fried. You can eat all the jack you want because personally it sucks . Maybe jerky......naaaa!
There is way too many good eating fish 🐟 out there.

This dude is after my own heart. I tried sea robin, gafftop, and sting ray last year. I've always been fascinated with fish that were supposedly "trash fish." My advice... just eat the game fish. Sea Robin wasn't that bad though. I wouldn't mind trying to smoke JC though.

Nothing wrong with gaftop in my personal experience.

buzzards , caracara's and seagulls will feed you in a pinch..
so will a possum...
but I'll stick w/dove, quail(when I'm lucky) turkey and chicken..
beef and pork, too. since we grow beef...
and who don't like bacon?

Yeah, but if all you catch is a JC, then that's all you got to cook. I need to learn how to cook pinpearch, that's all I caught when I fished with Tinman. Caught the dang thing on a topwater and he said it was the biggest pinpearch he had ever seen. I think the whole deal was RIGGED!!!

My son just caught his biggest fish ever at California Sunday, an 18 inch gaftop. Of course we ate it for dinner. Very Happy It was his day too. He caught two stingrays, a dogfish, a skipjack, a couple of whiting and eight or nine sandies (that, along with the whiting, also went in the cooler). He was a proud young man of nine catching and supplying us with dinner.
